A5 vs A4 — Which Size?

- A4 — larger writing surface, useful for complex orders or hotels where staff record detailed room service requests. Slightly heavier and less portable.
Logo & Branding
- Blind deboss — the most popular option for clipboards. Logo pressed into the leather with no foil. Clean, professional, holds up to daily handling without showing wear.
- Gold foil stamp — more visible and premium. Works especially well on dark leather. Suits upscale restaurants and hotel lobbies.
- Silver foil stamp — suits modern, minimal restaurant branding and lighter leather colours.
- Colour emboss — raised logo in a contrasting colour. Suits bold restaurant identities.
Clip Options
- Standard metal bulldog clip — functional, durable, low cost. The default option. Available in silver or brushed gold finish.
- Leather-covered clip — the clip mechanism is wrapped in matching leather. A more refined look, slightly higher cost. Popular for high-end restaurants where every detail matters.
Pen Holder Options
- Elastic loop — on the right side, holds a standard ballpoint pen securely. The most common configuration. Elastic is durable and low-profile.
- Leather loop — a stitched leather strap on the side. More premium feel, suits full-grain leather clipboards.
- No pen holder — if servers carry pens separately or in their uniform, the pen holder can be omitted.

Order 1.5× your number of front-of-house servers — this gives you a buffer for replacements. For a restaurant with 8 servers on a busy shift, order around 12 clipboards. Since our MOQ is 50, restaurants with fewer than 30 servers should simply order 50 — the extras serve as long-term replacements and typically last 2–4 years, so having spares is sensible.
Full-grain leather clipboards are water-resistant to splashes but not waterproof — they should not be left in rain. PU leather is more water-resistant and easier to wipe clean, making it a better choice for outdoor terraces, poolside service and beach clubs. If your servers work in wet or humid conditions frequently, we recommend PU leather with a moisture-treated finish — let us know your environment and we’ll advise on the best material.

Ordering all three products together allows us to cut from the same leather batch, ensuring consistent colour across your menu covers, check presenters and clipboards. The same logo embossing stamp is used across all three products. This coordinated approach creates a visually unified table identity that guests and critics notice. Combined orders of 150+ pieces (50 of each product) may qualify for a small volume discount.
Full-grain leather clipboards typically last 3–5 years in daily restaurant service with reasonable care. The main wear points are the leather surface near the clip (from repeated clipping) and the pen holder loop. Our clipboards use reinforced stitching at all stress points. PU leather typically lasts 2–3 years. We recommend wiping the surface with a dry cloth after each shift to prevent oil and food contamination building up on the leather.
