Why Portrait Format?

Wine lists are typically taller than standard menus — reflecting the length of the list and creating a sense of occasion when presented. A portrait-format leather cover signals to the guest that the wine programme is a serious part of the dining experience. The tall proportions also allow more insert pages, which is useful for restaurants with extensive cellars.

Colour Guide for Wine Lists

  • Burgundy — the classic choice. Instantly signals wine culture. Suits traditional European fine dining.
  • Black — modern, versatile. Suits contemporary restaurants and high-end wine bars.
  • Navy — sophisticated alternative for venues with a nautical or club aesthetic.
  • Tan Brown — warm, relaxed. Popular for wine-focused bistros and natural wine bars.

Logo & Branding

  • Gold foil stamp — most popular for wine lists. Warm tone complements the product beautifully. Send vector artwork (AI, EPS or PDF).
  • Silver foil stamp — clean, contemporary. Popular for modern wine bars and Champagne-focused venues.
  • Blind deboss — tactile, understated luxury. No ink or foil — the logo is pressed into the leather. Suits minimalist restaurant identities.
  • Sommelier detail — optional screen-printed interior with vintage year, sommelier name or tasting note fields. Ask us for examples.

Interior & Bookmark Options

  • Single spine interior holds loose-leaf inserts or a printed booklet.
  • Dual spine divides wine list into sections (e.g. red / white / champagne / dessert).
  • Up to 8 clear pocket inserts — ideal for laminated pages or seasonal inserts.
  • Ribbon bookmark in matched or contrast colour — silk or leather options.
  • All interior configurations available at the same MOQ of 50 pieces.

Matching with Menu Covers

We recommend ordering wine list covers together with your food menu covers to ensure colour consistency. Produced from the same leather batch, both products will match perfectly on the table. Combined orders over 100 pieces may qualify for a small volume discount — ask when you enquire.

What size should I order for my wine list? +

Our standard wine list cover size is 15×32 cm (closed), which is taller than a standard A4 menu cover. This is specifically designed for wine lists, which are typically taller than food menus. If your wine list is a different size, simply send us the dimensions of your printed pages and we’ll produce covers to match exactly — no extra charge for custom sizing.

Can I order wine list covers to match my food menu covers? +

Yes — and we recommend it for a cohesive table presentation. If you order both food menu covers and wine list covers at the same time, we can produce them from the same leather batch to ensure colour matching. The sizes will be different (food menus are typically A4, wine lists are taller) but the leather colour and logo treatment will match perfectly.

How many sections can the interior hold? +

The standard single-spine interior holds a loose-leaf booklet or up to 6 loose pages. A dual-spine interior divides the cover into two sections — useful for separating red and white wines, or wine and spirits. We can also add up to 8 individual clear pocket inserts if you use laminated pages. All interior configurations are available at the same MOQ of 50 pieces — specify your preference when you enquire.

Is burgundy leather the only colour option for wine lists? +

No — burgundy is the most traditional and popular choice, but we offer black, tan brown, navy and dark brown as standard colours, with custom colours available on request for larger orders. Black is increasingly popular for modern wine bars and contemporary fine dining restaurants. Navy suits clubs and members’ venues. Choose the colour that fits your brand identity — the wine list cover should feel like part of your restaurant, not a generic product.

Can I add a ribbon bookmark? +

Yes — a ribbon bookmark is one of our most popular options for wine list covers. It is attached at the spine and allows the sommelier or server to mark a specific page. We offer silk ribbon in gold, silver, burgundy or black, and also a leather ribbon option for a more premium feel. The ribbon colour is specified at the sample stage and can be matched to your brand palette. There is no extra charge for adding a ribbon bookmark.
